MAGYARORSZ ÁG TEGZESEI (TRICHOPTERA) The caddisflies of Hungary (Trichoptera)
Dunántúli Dolgozatok (A) természettudományi Sorozat 11: 1-386.
Abstract: This volume summarised the recent results of fauna examinations of Trichoptera in Hungary. Also, the most important results of European and overseas examinations are given. The authors present their own studies on Hungarian caddisflies between 1982-2001. They have visited all main regions of Hungary to obtain samples. Their most important sampling methods were personal collecting by lamps along water bodies and the use of semi-automatic light traps. They elaborated materials collected by colleagues. Three large collections were also revised. During the two decades of the study they collected and elaborated 758 thousand caddisfly adults, they recorded their samples into diaries and into a computer data base. In the main chapter all the species occurring in Hungary are introduced in a short text and by an original drawing by one of the authors. 210 species occur in Hungary authentically, but some species had to be detected because of their missidentification or lack of voucher speciemens. The main biotopes and their caddisfly populations or communities are also studied and presented in tables of dominant species and similarity tables. The development of zoogeography of the fauna is touched upon briefly. Nature conservation aspectes are also outlined. The volume contains distribution maps for 204 species on the basis of the authors' database and literature data, and activity graphs for 80 species, also based on the computer database. The main text is in Hungarian, with captions appering in English as well.
